Jenny Tubby
Jenny Tubby is an Australian artist born in Coledale in 1968. Jenny graduated in Visual Arts at the University of Wollongong in 2010. Her interest is in the exploration of social, political and cultural issues through a variety of visual processes including video performance, collage, painting, animation, projection and installation. The concept and context of each body of work determines the materials used which are often found or recycled. Jenny’s work arises from an-ongoing studio practice (daily) of painting and drawing.
Tubby’s work has featured in numerous group exhibitions such as Hatched National Graduate Show (2010) at Perth Institute of Contemporary Art, Waverley Art Prize (2008, 2006, 2005 and 2004), Mosman Art Prize (2004) and Blake Prize for Religious Art (2004). In 2011/12 Tubby was awarded resident artist at Wollongong City Gallery and exhibited Octagonal Rooms in 2012.
